Something scary brewing at The Schofield Manor!

We love Halloween! (The cute side of Halloween that is!) If any of you have not heard my story of being in the store with the kids a few years ago at the Smith's Marketplace in Logan around Halloween with the kids, ask me next time I see you! We love listening to fun Halloween music and dancing to it in our kitchen. We love putting up fun and cute Halloween decorations, and we especially love the dressing up part and trick-or-treating!

This year was fun to celebrate, being in a new home and all, not to mention the fact that we could go trick-or-treating to Grandpa and Grandma Pierce's house! The kids had a fun time changing their minds almost daily about what they wanted to be. Pierce decided to be a rock 'n roll werewolf (say that three times fast)! Dayton wanted to be a police man, but he wasn't liking any of the ones I liked, so he decided to pull a few costumes from the costume box. Both last year and this year he's been two different things. He dresses up for one thing for school and church activities, and then the day of Halloween he digs up something else out of the costume box and is adamant he wear that trick-or-treating. So, for school, Dayton chose to be Hercules. And then Halloween afternoon, he came down the stairs in the red Power Ranger outfit. Kennedy is the quin-essential girl and wanted to be Tinker Bell again this year, but I convinced her to be Thumbelina (Pink Tinker Bell)! Maleah was the cutest black kitty I have ever seen!





We also let the kids choose what they wanted to help carve on the pumpkins this year. Pierce was very theme based this year, and wanted to have a werewolf carved on his pumpkin. Dayton wanted a ghost, and Kennedy wanted a princes (no surprises there!). So, Mommy did the best she could with the help of free printables of the internet. We had Kendra's brother's wife Christy over to help carve along with their two little boys. It was a fun night of carving!


One of the things about this year was having some of our best friends from Logan come by for a visit on their way home from a family party. We had the pleasure of having the Merkleys come for about an hour of play and visiting. It was good to chat with Rachel and get caught up on all the happenings in the old ward, and to see the kids pick right up after a two and a half month lonely stretch form seeing each other. Thanks you for coming guys! You made our day!


If we keep up with the get-togethers, these two little princess fairies are going to be the BFF's of the century! They are so cute together!


We also enjoyed a visit from Kendra's brother Brighton and his wife Brooke. Brighton was a caveman, and poor little Maleah was scared to death of him! She wouldn't even look at him, and would have a death grip on anyone who was holding her (as you can tell in the picture)! We love you guys!
