Maleah's Blessing

Today was a special day. Maleah was blessed at church today. Kendra's family came, as well as Frank's sister Sandra and her family from Kansas. Kendra wanted Maleah to have her own dress, and didn't really feel like apying $70+ on a dress, so we went on ebay. There was a antique heirloom dress made in the late 1890's to early 1900's being auctioned for $15. We decided to bid on the dress, and ended up winning it for $36, plus $5 shipping. It is an absolutely gorgeous dress! It was a little yellow, but an overnight soak in Biz did the trick! She looked like an absolute angel...and yes, she still has all her dark hair. Maleah was the first baby of ours not to cry through her blessing. She is definietly living up to her name meaning "calm and peaceful."

Tiny hands & feet!!!

So precious!!!

Beautiful dress!!!

We also had a great Christmas. Our original plans were to stay here in Logan for most of the holiday. Grandma and Grandpa Pierce came up Tuesday evening, and left back to Alpine on Christmas Eve after our little Christmas Eve day festivities. We had Christmas morning here, and weren't planning on going anywhere due to the weather. However, at about 1:00, Frank decided it might be fun to go to Alpine to visit family on Christmas, and after checking road conditions on UDOT, the roads seemed to be clear enough to travel. Sardine Canyon was slick, but once we hit the freeway, things were okay. It was a nice surprise for Kendra's parents to have us all show up Christmas night. We drove home on Saturday, and everything was pretty iced over again in Sardine, making the trip home a little worse. It has been fun seeing family!
